Consultation / Scanning / Records

You only have one chance to make a good impression! How do you manage your first appointment with new patients? What are the right and wrong things to do? To say. In this course, we suggest a method that you can easily apply in your practice with new and existing patients. A method that has worked for that we developed over the last 30 years of practice.

Diagnostic and treatment planning

Being able to choose the right cases according to your level of knowledge and confidence is one of the most important things to bring you success in your clear aligner treatment cases. Taking the time to make a good diagnostic is crucial in determining if you can treat the case or if you should wait or refer it to a more experienced practician.

Case selection

How to select cases? How can you predict if a case will be easy, moderate, or hard to treat? And most importantly, how to stay out of trouble! Choose your case well... And choose your patients well!

Anatomy and parameters of clear aligners

In this course, we review the different features you can find and use with the Invisalign® clear aligner system. We explain the parameters that will help you understand the quantity of movement you can expect from each individual aligner. We give you also a brief review of common orthodontic and clear aligner terms and terminology. It's the perfect course to understand and know the tool or instrument you are using.

Basic tooth movement mechanics

Understanding mechanics is like putting all the pieces together. This is where we separate the children from the adults. From the basic principles and biology of tooth movement to more detailed mechanics, this complete course will bring answers to questions you have been asking yourself for a while. These things are not always easy to understand, but they can be understood!

Attachments 101

If you want to have success with your clear aligner cases, you need attachments! And this applies to all types of clear aligners. The worst lie we hear is when some companies say that no attachment is needed with their system. This is just nonsense!

I.P.R.

I.P.R. or InterProximal Reduction (sometimes called A.R.S. for Air Rotor Stripping) is simply the removal of interproximal enamel to reduce the mesial-distal size of teeth.  It became popular when orthodontists started bonding brackets on teeth instead of using bands. The interproximal surface became available and with the work of Dr. Jack Sheridan, the popularity of A.R.S. increased.

Prescription and communication

There is a lot of confusion when it comes to choosing what type of Invisalign® product to use to treat our patients and how to communicate what you want precisely and efficiently with Align® technicians. This is a step in the process where a lot of dentists are confused.

ClinCheck® 101

What is a ClinCheck®? How to navigate the ClinCheck® 6.0 software? How to understand all the tools and use them properly? And finally, how to simply analyse a ClinCheck® treatment plan without getting lost? This course answers all these questions and more. Over these 4 hours of material, you will go through everything you need to treat your M.O.C.A. 101 recommended cases... and more!

Delivery and follow up

What do we do in a delivery appointment? What do we tell the patient? And in follow-up appointments? What do we check? How do we know if teeth are tracking? Should we change aligners every week? Every 2 weeks? Every 10 days? The answers and more in this module.

Troubleshooting 101

What to do when (and not if!) things don't go as planned? In this Troubleshooting 101 course, we review the most common problem situations you will face when treating patients with clear aligners. And most importantly, we give you tips and tricks on how to avoid them and how to deal with them when they could not be avoided.

Retention

Retention is the phase of orthodontic treatment that attempts to keep teeth in the corrected positions after orthodontic treatment. Without a phase of retention, there is a tendency for teeth to return to their initial position (relapse).
